Limits & supported formats

Input: 1 file · PNG, JPEG, WebP (static) · up to 20 MiB.

Static images: up to 2,048 px per side. Animated inputs are not supported here.

Still image output: up to 2,048 px per side and 4,194,304 pixels. No animation is exported.

Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

Image Metadata & DPI

Read common EXIF fields and resolution information in JPEG, PNG and WebP. Edit supported descriptive fields and DPI, or clear metadata. This changes metadata, not the number of pixels. Keep your original if you need unsupported vendor tags.

If the result needs another pass

Image data is retained. Orientation is retained so the image stays correctly displayed; descriptive EXIF fields are removed. Different applications can interpret resolution hints differently.

Good to know

Does changing DPI improve image resolution?

No. DPI sets a print-size hint. It does not add pixels or restore detail. Use Image Resizer to change pixel dimensions.

Does clearing metadata change pixels?
