Limits & supported formats

Input: 1 file · APNG · up to 20 MiB.

Images: up to 2,048 px per side and 400 animation frames.

Output: up to 2,048 px per side, 4,194,304 pixels per frame and 400 frames.

Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

APNG to GIF

Choose an APNG and a palette size. Partial frames are composited with their blend and disposal rules before encoding.

Choosing your settings

GIF has at most 256 colors per frame and binary transparency. Timing uses 10 ms steps with a 20 ms minimum; embedded color profiles are rejected.

If the result needs another pass

Export an sRGB APNG without an embedded ICC profile if it is unsupported. Reduce large canvases in the source editor first.
