Color to Transparent

Turn a flat logo background or a single repeated color into transparency. Unlike portrait AI cutout, this tool compares colors across the whole image; matching colors inside the subject are removed too.

Choosing your settings

Start with low tolerance and increase it only if edge colors remain. PNG or WebP keeps transparency; JPEG flattens it again. The original dimensions are kept.

If the result needs another pass

If important details disappear, lower tolerance or choose another key color. Photographic, textured or multi-color backgrounds are not suitable. Compression artifacts may leave a fringe around JPEG edges.

Good to know

Does this use AI?

No. It removes pixels matching a chosen color, including matching pixels within the subject.

Why is the downloaded JPEG opaque?

JPEG cannot store transparency. Choose PNG or WebP for a transparent output.
